Today’s deal is $15 of food for $7.50 at the French Quarters Restaurant. They bill their food as southern cooking. And they do serve some delicious southern food such as Hot Links, Pork Chops, Catfish, Neck Bones, Ox Tail Soup and Gumbo. For sides they offer Dirty Rice, Red Beans and Rice, Greens, Fried Okra, Chit-Lins and more all in generous portions. Just like mom used to make if your mom cooked southern food, my Mom didn’t and I’ll leave it at that. I married into southern cooking however and it is some good stuff. My wife, by the way, married into fast food but that's a story for a different day.

One thing I’ve learned about old southern dining is that they called their meals by different names in the South. Supper is actually not dinner, as you may or may not know in the South supper was usually the later evening meal. Dinner was more like lunch. Dinner and supper are sometimes currently used interchangeably but actually they have two different meanings to many people who grew up in the southern United States.

Whatever you call your meals; this is your chance to get some delicious food for half the price. Today’s deal is $15 of food for $7.50 at the French Quarters Restaurant. If you’ve never had southern home cooking, this is your chance to try it for a great price. If your roots are in the south and this style is just called home cooking to you, here’s your chance to take the night off or in my case give your spouse the night off and try someone else’s delicious food for a great price. As they say in the south, “You can call me anything you want, just don’t call me late for dinner, er…supper.”
