Haldeman and other government officials was “powered” by information given to the reporters Woodward and Bernstein by a mystery man inside the government whose nickname was Deep Throat. This character played an important role in the reporters' investigation by providing them with tips and leads. The character remained the subject of mystery and speculation. But in 2005, W. Mark Felt revealed to the world that he was Deep Throat and the other players in the drama confirmed it. His deep background helped in the investigation that led to the resignation of the President of the United States. That’s deep too.

So there you have it, two excellent examples of deep things.
